On the 2nd floor of the hotel there is also a “true” exhibition gallery run by the photographer Veronika Souralová. Every other month there is a new exhibition of works of our leading professional as well as amateur photographers. The gallery has established cooperation with the CZECH PRESS PHOTO and we hope it is becoming a decent meeting place for photographers and a significant cultural centre not only of Roztoky.

Veronika Souralová
(web) Veronika Souralová is a female photographer mostly focusing on the art of collage and systematic acquisitions of photographic series from the life of insects, which she has been interested in for years. The first series was devoted to macro-images of ants, and was produced by her over two years under the guidance of her father RNDr. Petr Miles.
In October 2004 the Mladá fronta publishers issued her book of fairy tales for children about ants based on her photographic collages. At present she prepares its sequel about butterflies.
In December 2006 she launched the photo gallery of the Academic Hotel, which allows professional and amateur photographers to hold exhibitions of their works there.
